TIU KELEP & SENDANG GILE WATERFALLSLocated on the northern slopes of Mount Rinjani volcano, these two stunning waterfalls are fed by the immense volumes of rainwater collected from the slopes of Mt Rinjani.The first of the waterfalls is quite easy to get to but requires some effort to make it back up the steep path.The second fall is well worth the effort, and you are able to take a swim here which is very refreshing after the exercise!What you will need…•Camera•Towel•Thongs / Flip Flops or slip-on shoes•Good knees!
MOUNT RINJANI VOLCANOMount Rinjani is the second largest volcano in Indonesia. THE GILI ISLANDSLocated just off the north-west corner of Lombok lie three tropical paradise islands, Gili Trawangan (the largest), Gili Meno (next largest) and Gili Air.Gili Trawangan is the most popular, with numerous resorts and bars.Snorkelling or diving around the Gili Islands is a must do if you are visiting… there are numerous coral reefs to explore. KUTA LOMBOK REGIONLocated on the south coast of Lombok, Kuta Lombok offers some stunning small bays and coves with beaches of fine coral sand, lined with palm trees.This area is being developed with high quality resorts with excellent facilities. GILI NANGGU REGIONLocated on the south west of Lombok, this region offers traditional fishing villages, with beautiful coral sand beaches.Great snorkelling further to the western end of the peninsula. This area is pretty much undeveloped.What you will need…•Camera•Towel•Swimming clothesWe highly recommend a visit to this region.This area makes for an excellent day tour of about 8 hours. Stop and explore the small bays or visit the nearby islands which are barely inhabited, some with just a few buildings.
GANGGA WATERFALLSWhile not as large as Tiu Kelep or Sendang Gile waterfalls, these falls are little visited by most people. Set on the western slopes of Mount Rinjani volcanoe, these waterfalls are comprised of three separate falls.A bit of swimming and climbing is required to visit all three falls, but they are well worth the effort.What you will need…•Camera•Towel•Swimming clothesA visit to Gannga is easily incorporated into visits to local markets, traditional Sasak Village and also a visit to the Pusuk Monkey Forest.
MONKEY FORESTLocated in the mountains reasonably close to the tourist area of Senggigi, Monkey Forest is a great place to hand-feed the local monkeys who have little fear of humans.These little guys are not aggressive, but they are very good thieves, so keep your valuables close, and all bags closed.What you will need…•Camera•Bag of peanuts or some fruit•Sense of humourFor many who have had little to do with monkeys, a visit here is often the highlight of their visit to Lombok.Easily incorporated with a visit to Tiu Kelep and Sendang Gile WaterfallsHighly recommended!
PINK BEACHLocated right down in the south-eastern corner of Lombok, Pink Beach is one of the most unique beaches in the world… it is pink in colour!Made up of broken white and pink coral, the beach exhibits a slight pink hue!What you will need…•Camera•Swimming & snorkelling gear•TowelThe trip to Pink Beach is a long tour day, with a boat ride required as well as a few hours in a vehicle to get here.Beautiful tropical bay but with pink sand!Highly recommended!
PURA NARMADA TEMPLEAn amazing Balinese temple built in 1805 by one of the last kingdoms on Bali offering manicured gardens and sweeping water pools. PRINGGASELA WEAVING VILLAGELombok has many villages whose main industry is the weaving of traditional textiles using the “back strap” method, where the body weight of the weaver is used to maintain the correct tension on the weaving loom.Mothers pass down the traditional patterns (which are exclusive to that specific family) to their daughters, no by writing, but by many years of practice alone.These textiles are sought after all across the world for their quality and unique patterns.
